As I mentioned in an earlier post, I attended a whole weekend course of art journaling at AFTH in Harrogate ( a Christmas present from our three children - so you three...THANK YOU!! - my most favourite present of 2009!!) I picked up loads of tips from Dyan.
Well when I got home, I told Andy I needed magazines for images.... he's very thoughtful about some things but I was thrilled when he came back with this mag.... I think he was drawn to it because it's called Juxtapoze (but without the 'e') and he uses that word sometimes... in his book it means looking at opposing opinions and critiquing them!
There are some great images in it!
So last night I 'popped' into my room and ended up staying there until 2 o clock this morning! After what I said in my last post, (about needing a few minutes here and there!) things have deteriorated pretty rapidly!
It was very relaxing though - I had my door open and could hear Andy's breathing rhythm as he was sleeping!
I love the Tim Holtz brick stamp and used it to frame this page...
And I was inspired to do a black and white page after seeing Dyan's. And of course I cut up my new magazine....
Sandra - these are absolutely gorgeous both of them and a new magazine name to boot! This is seriously addictive isn't it, thankfully getting both hubby and son involved means I can turn my hand to it pretty much whenever - mind you have't seen the breakfast bar surface all week - it's covered in paper and paints and newspaper and a present I got from other half for valentines day a brand new pack of 48 oil pastels - how spoilt am I! - So I've been making all my pages pop since I got them! Hope you are having a beautiful weekend.

Thanks for the lovely comments you always leave on my blog. It's amazing that it was Dyan mentioning us on her blog that made us followers of one another. I am SOOOOOO eager to get to AFTH to learn journalling but I have so much on at the minute and it's not round the corner. BUT, hook or by crook, when the weather improves, I'll be there!!!! You never know we might meet up one day! Love your pages, brilliant, and what a darling hubby and family for the gift and mag!!!! x
ReplyDeleteCrikey Moses your journalling pages have evolved amazingly - AMAZINGLY!! Can't wait till mine are so fab. Just a quickie - and I don't have your email address so I've had to put it here, the text you sent me last week - I haven't replied yet cos my phone's playing up and not leaving spaces in texts and doing other weird stuff so I'm very tempted to drown it at the moment!
ReplyDeleteLoving the pages - I did a black and white one too and It's my fav so far.
How would we ever have got through life if we hadn't met Dyan? The mind boggles at the thought!
Love to all
Loving the pages that u are doing. You really have a thoughtful hubby and kids, I assume Andy has a good eye for what's useful bringing you that cool mag? (which Im off to find), Chris would just come back with Angling Times for me!lol.
ReplyDeleteI've been asking folk at work for mags - mainly getting Take a Break or Chat - not really got good images in - or it might me be not reallising what I can do with them?? xx
wow, amazing work and what a great mag
ReplyDeleteI was sure I had already left a comment on this post but it's not here! Maybe I dreamt it... Anyway, fab pages - you're cookin with gas now! Love the look of the magazine, was hoping to find a few unusual ones in Glasgow but Borders is shut now and WH Smith was very unadventurous! Have a great time at AFTH - would have loved to do Claudine's class but we're just too far away for another trip down right now... Take LOTS of pictures, I want to feel like I was there when I read all about it on your blog!! xxx
ReplyDeleteHello again! Well?!? How was it?!? As fabulous as I imagined it would be?!? xx
