Happy Times, Sad Times

First I'd like to give a sincere thank you to everyone for your lovely comments and good wishes in my last post.

I've been missing in action because Auntie Gladwyn has died. It doesn't matter how much you are expecting death, it is still a shock. So I am having a little bloggy break while the family gathers in mourning.

I will leave you with some of my recent happy times though, (as you know our youngest daughter gets married next year and things are hotting up) Andy and I accompanied Steph and Alastair to not one, not two, but THREE! wedding Fayre's in York last Sunday.

The wedding reception will be at The Merchant Adventurers Hall in York...

It's fantastic inside...a real medieval treat...except for the loos which I am delighted to say are totally modern!

York is renowned for its quaint alley ways and short cuts...its just that Alastair is too tall for some of them! I had to take a snap here because he was carrying Steph's bag too and there was no mistaking it for a man bag!

Bye for now, I shall be back when I'm ready.

  5. I am so sorry Sandra for your loss sweetheart no matter how long we have had them or how old they became it is a price we pay for loving someone in our lives and that price is grief. You will have so many happy memories and so many stories to tell and that will keep you going for a long long time. You have your wonderful family and new memories to make so when it becomes too sad to think about put it away in a special little memory box and store it in the back of your mind and take it out a bit at a time and only think about until it is too hard to bear and store her memories away again. big hugs Valx

  6. Hi Sandra, read your post earlier via my phone and tried to leave a comment but it wouldn't work. Was so sad to read your news. Losing someone you love is never easy no matter how prepared you think you are. Take your time to grieve and remember and cry and heal. We'll all be here waiting for you when you get back. xx

  16. I'm really sorry for your loss, Sandra and pray that your fond memories will, in time, be a reason to celebrate and not to mourn. I'm sure you miss her, though. I feel for you.

On another note, my son gets married next year, too, so I know what that feels like!! They've chosen a big castle for their venue - sadly secular, though they've opted for a blessing because Phil says it's important to him - I'm thankful for small mercies :) But also my brother lives in York, so it was lovely to see the photos. It can sometimes be a small world. Must follow your blog so that I can keep up to date with you!! Congratulations on your hubby's 11th transplant year, too - God's good :)
