ATC's

I went to a workshop preview at http://afth.co.uk/ today with my friend Ann, I booked a couple of workshops but they're not until July. Another friend of ours, Gill, had asked me to pick up some stash for her while we were there but we were half way home before I realised that I had forgotten it! I'm gonna have some grovelling to do when I explain to Gill....

A while ago I made an ATC called "Visions of Sugarplums" for Ann, which she loved so we've been playing around a bit more.... we chose images and worked round them, making the backgrounds etc. I used a brass rose charm (purchased from http://artchixstudio.com ) to embellish this one.

We also had a play around with Ann's melt pot doing some faux soldering

We both liked the results, I shall use these on a card for some lucky person.

Experimenting

Last night I visited another craft room extraordinaire! This time it was the turn of my friend Gill....now I don't want to sound like an envious person because I'm not, but her crafting space is amazing. One large room, two (large) desks to work on and oodles of storage and yes - overflowing with goodies! (in every size, shape and colour!)

Gill had seen my 'Create' canvas and loved it and she just happened to have two canvases (four actually!) for us to play with. Well with an invitation like that what is a girl to do but step up...

We used Adirondack acrylics as Gill hasn't got the Claudine Helmuth paints (yet). The results are different but just as pleasing....we got good and painty "Do you want a pair of gloves" Gill asked "No, no Im fine" I answered ... ought to have thought about that as I met up with my daughter to go shopping in Derbyshire today and had some strange looks from shop assistants every time I made a purchase!
I need a quote and some finishing touches for mine, which I will get round to...I just love this kind of messing about - it's a different kind of creativeness than designing scrapbook layouts for my classes.
I added splashes of paint to the flower, some filigree metal squares and a Tim Holtz idea-ology key....

Don't you just love this unusual button? Its almost pebble like..

And here is Gill's creation .... again, paint on the flower along with a bit a stickles, metal corners around her quote, "fru fru" feathers under her flower, a touch of bead work around the edges ....she went one better though and added TWO idea-ology keys....now I just call that plain greedy....

Time flies when you're having FUN!

The saying "Time waits for no man" is so true....I wanted time to stand still for a little bit today because I was having so much fun.
Number one reason - I was spending the day with my friend Shelley, number two reason - we were going to afth in Harrogate http://afth.co.uk....we have kinda defined this as "our space" because we get to chit chat in the car all the way there and back and we so enjoy messing about and making stuff - - it doesn't matter what it is - sorry Dyan - we just love doing it TOGETHER - no interuptions from our men, kids, 'phone......

We let our creativeness surface - that's easy to do when Dy is on your case! Well here's what I made today...we used Claudine Helmuth paints and they were fantastic, such a wonderful sheen to them... I learned a lot about them and now I want them all!
I added the rub on when I got home as I thought it fitted well with the quote I'd used and rounded of the day perfectly.
